This policy explains how advance payments, cancellations, and refunds work for projects and retainers with Preside Works.

1. Advance payment

Projects are secured with a 50% advance payment before work begins. This advance reserves your project slot and covers the initial phase of work (discovery, strategy, and early design/setup).

2. Once work has started, advances are non-refundable

Once your advance payment has been made and work has started on your project, that amount is not refundable in cash, under any circumstance, including if you decide to stop the project partway through.

3. What happens if you cancel mid-project

If you choose to discontinue a project after work has started, we will not issue a cash refund. Instead, we will:

  • Deliver whatever has been completed up to that point, and/or
  • Apply the value already paid toward an equivalent alternative deliverable or service of your choosing (for example, switching a website project's remaining budget toward a smaller scope, or applying it to a different service we offer).

The amount already paid is never returned as cash, but you will always receive value equivalent to what you've paid for, in the form of completed or alternative work.

4. Monthly retainers (SEO / performance marketing / maintenance)

Retainers are billed monthly in advance. You can cancel a retainer for future months at any time by giving notice before the next billing cycle; the current month's fee already paid is treated the same as point 3 above and is not refunded in cash.

5. Third-party and pass-through costs

Amounts paid directly to third parties on your behalf, such as domain registration, hosting, ad spend paid to Google/Meta, and premium plugins/themes/assets, are subject to those providers' own refund policies, not ours.
